Captain’s Log
A few years ago, I went to see the optician about my eyes. My vision had become very blurry, particularly if I had been reading for some time. The optician noticed there had been quite a large deterioration since my last visit. I asked her if I should be worried. “No,” said the 12-year old-looking optician. “It’s just your age!”
Reflecting on it later, I’m not sure if I left the store offended most by her flippant remark about my age, or the second mortgage-type fee I had to pay for the privilege of hearing it!
I get very frustrated if I can’t see clearly. As Future Builders, it is important we can clearly see God’s vision for us and for our church. Sometimes, that means lifting our eyes from our every day cares and looking into the future, asking God to show us how things could and should be.
Perhaps we can all ask God over the coming week to open our eyes to his vision for us. As we do so, he will supply us with the wisdom we need to face the future.
On Sunday, Nehemiah’s story will help us to see the bigger picture God has for us. You can continue to reflect on the story during the week through the Battle Drill devotionals. There's a new episode of Battle Drill Devotional every Monday through Friday. Head to https://battledrilldevotional.podbean.com for more details and to subscribe to the podcast wherever you get your podcasts or you can catch up with us on the Battlefield Resources Facebook page - https://www.facebook.com/battlefieldresources.
